The catalog, written to accompany the Orange County Regional History Center's exhibit : Florida's Highwaymen: Legendary Landscapes, contains over 65 prints by members of the Florida Highwaymen. These African American artists painted landscapes and made their living selling them door to door to businesses and individuals throughout the state of Florida from the mid-50"s through the 1980s. They carved out unique economic opportunities despite the restrictions of the Jim Crow South. Short biographies and large color prints. |
